Periodontal Surgery
Periodontal
Surgery Description
Periodontal Surgery is a surgical procedure designed to restore and regenerate the shape and function of the damaged periodontal structures, which support your teeth. This procedure is an ideal treatment of deep periodontal pockets.
Objective
When periodontal pockets do not heal properly after Phase I (scaling and root planning / deep cleaning), the next stage of periodontal treatment is to remove them through surgery. This gives our patients the possibility of maintaining proper oral hygiene.
Treatment
The Doctor raises the gum slightly for scaling and root planning, recontouring the bone and/or inserting a bone graft, and then suturing the gingival tissue in the new position, in order to eliminate inflammation, have better plaque control, promote tissue regeneration, and improve the prognosis of your teeth.
