Maxillary Sinus Lift

Description

A maxillary sinus lift is a surgery that adds bone to your upper jaw in the area of your molars and premolars. The bone is added between your jaw and the maxillary sinuses, which are on either side of your nose, to make room for dental implants to be placed.

Objective

This procedure is done when there is insufficient bone structure in the upper jaw to place a dental implant.

Treatment

A graft is made with a mixture of synthetic bone and autologous bone and is placed between the maxillary floor and the sinus membrane, in order to make room for the bone to regenerate and allow the placement of the dental implants.
